Mr. G. S. Reynolds, stationmaster til Otorohanga for the past four years, has received notice of his transfer on promotion to Dannevirke.
Major R. W. Haddow, D.C.M., of Trentham and formerly of Patea, was a visitor to Wanganui yesterday and met officials of the Wanganui Marching Association.
Hon. F. Jones, Minister of Defence, was a visitor to Wanganui on Saturday for the Labour Party's picnic. He was accompanied by' Mrs. Jones and returned to Wellington in the late afternoon.
Mr. D. C. Kidd, member of Parliament for Waitaki, who was recently operated on for peritonitis at the Christchurch Public Hospital, is making a rapid recovery and is able to leave his bed for a short time each day.
Mr. A. P. Kennedy, for the last two years headmaster of the Kilbirnie school, Wellington, has been appointed headmaster of the Clyde Quay school, in succession to Mr. J. J. Rodgers, who retired on superannuation at the end of last year.
