Alternative feed, stock i meal imported from Australia, is, the : poultrykeepers say, unsuitable as well < I as too expensive. Cattle and pig farmers are also 1 affected by the shortage of pollard.
Wellington merchants have had i practically no pollard for three i months. Over the last year they say I they have been able to obtain less than a quarter of their requirements. To-day there is not a bag to be obtained in Wellington. I Bran is also very scarce. For the shortage they blame the Government control.. If the merchants had been left to operate free from State interference there would be sufficient supplies to-day, they say
