CHAIN OF AERODROMES IN NORTH AMERICA

CANADA AND U.S.A. AGREE • TO PLANS

WASHINGTON, Jan. 12. Plans have been agreed to for a series of air bases extending across Western Canada for use by Canada and the United States, it is announced from Washington. The aerodromes will form a chain across northern Alberta, northern British Columbia, and the Yukon, and will connect with United States bases in Alaska. The agreement is vitally important to America’s defence, for it means an all-year air highway to and from Alaska that will be equipped to handle the largest bombers used by the air forces of the United States and Canada. It is reported that the entire route will be equipped with radio beam aubaratus.
