More welcome rain fell in Wanganui early yesterday morning, and also during the day, when several showers were experienced. There was a strong westerly wind all day, and temperatures were noticeably cooler The rain at the week-end was general in the North Island, and in Wanganui a fifth of an inch was recorded. Withered pastures were freshened and farmers benefited from Uie rain Before the week-end dairy production was declining in parts of the district, and lambs were oeing rushed to the freezing works before they lost too much condition.
