CHRISTIAN SCIENCE CHURCHES

"Sacrament” was the subject of the lesson-sermon in ail Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, January 12. The'golden text Was II Cor. 13:14, "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all.” Among the citations which comprised the lesson-sermon were the following from the Bible, “See that none render evil for evil unto any man, but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves and to all men. Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." (Thess. 5:15-18). Also the following passages from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, “The substance of all devotion is the reflection and demonstration of divine Love, healing sickness and destroying sin. Our master said, ‘lf ye love me. keep my commandments.’ Good demands of man every hour in which to work out the problem of being. Consecration to good does not lessen man's dependence on God, but heightens it. Neither does consecration diminish man’s obligations to God, but shows the paramount necessity of meeting them.” (pp. 241, 261).
