TE AROHA ANNIVERSARY
TE AROHA. Jan. 9. The 60th. anniversary of the opening of the Thames Valley goldfields and the founding of Te Aroha was celebrated at a function at which pioneer settlers and other old residents were the guests of the Mayor, Mr. R. Coulter, and members of the Te Aroha Borough Council. An address on the early days of the town was given by Mr. W. Hetherington, of Tirau, who arrived five days before the goldfields were declared open.
