CARS THAT TOTALLY DISAPPEAR

POLICE BAFFLED ARE THE MACHINES BEING REBUILT? [ Per Press Association. ] WELLINGTON, Jan. 10. The complete disappearance of a number of cars from three of the main centres is a baffling problem at present facing the police, since they were reported missing during the closing months of last year and not a trace of any description has been found. The cases are clearly distinguished from the ordinary run of conversion offences. It is possible, though not likely, that they have been rebuilt. A strong possibility is that they have been laid up in public garages, with garaging fees paid to proprietors who are unaware that they house them.
