HITHER AND THITHER

To-night's Dance Another of the popular weekly dances at the Carlton Ballroom will take place to-night when a large attendance is expected. A good orchestra will be in attendance and Monte Carlos are to be featured on the programme. Athlete Marries On December 29, Second-Lieutenant Frank Sharpley, the Hastings athlete, and Sheila, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. von Dadelszen, of Havelock North, decided during his leave from camp to greet the New Year as man and wife. The wedding took place quietly at St. Luke's Church next day. Frank Sharpley is the New Zealand hurdles champion and record-holder and was a representative at the last Empire Games in 1938. His bride achieved her B.A. degree this year at Auckland University College in record time.
