PLAY IN NORTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIP

YESTERDAY’S RESULTS Play in the North Island croquet championships was advanced a further stage yesterday on Wanganui city and suburban lawns. Good progress is being made in the handicap singles event, and play in’ the championships are being continued. Play in the handicap doubles will begin to-day. Yesterday’s results were:— Open Championships. (Best two out of three games.) A. E. Ogier (Wanganui) beat Mrs. Bryan (Wellington), 26-7 and 26-16; Miss Keatley (Auckland) beat Mrs. Mouat (Wellington), 26-8 and 26-0; C. La Roche (Wanganui) beat F. 8. Harrison (Wanganui), 26-2 and 26-3; Mrs. Brass (Wanganui) beat D. McClymont (Wanganui), 26-24 and 26-10.
