BULLS TOWN BOARD. MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Bulls Town Board was held on Thursday evening. Present: Crs. J. E. Walker (chairman), F. A. Holland, J. J. Mansell, A. W. Amon, D. Lundy, C. C. Price and W. Kearney.

Foreman S. Howard reported that during the month grass was mowed and burned in Hammon, Gorton, Church, Daniel, High, Wilson, Criterion and Bridge Streets; also in Button’s Lane. Filling was carted to the Rest Room site. Blackberry was cut at the foot of Rec. Hill; grass mowed on the Domain, and paths mowed at the cemetery, where sexton’s duties were carried out.—The foreman was instructed to inspect certain properties where noxious weeds are reported to be permitted to grow. Attention was also drawn to overhanging trees on the footpath near the Soldiers’ Memorial. Correspondence.—From the SubArea Officer, N.Z. Military Forces, asking for particulars of German guns in the board”s possession.—Resolved to reply that the guns have been dismantled. From the County Clerk, Rangitikei County Council, asking for the board’s co-operation in dealing with noxious weeds. Resolved to assist in destruction of hemlock and blackberry. Two applications for subdivision of property were approved. Dog Tax.—Taxes were fixed as last year, viz., 2s 6d for working dogs, and 5s for all other dogs. Mr. F. Thomas was reappointed tax collector for 1941.

Rating.—Resolved that 10 per cent, be added to all rates unpaid after January 20, 1941. Mr. F. Cutts >vas reappointed valuer for the coming year.

Works Committee.—Crs. Holland, Kearney and Lundy were appointed a Works Committee for the following month. Holiday Decorations.—lt was resolved to supply greenery for decorating business premises during the holidays. and to provide coloured electric lights if business people would share the cost, as formerly.
