MAJESTIC THEATRE

"HOUSE OF SEVEN GABLES” A story of unusual dramatic depth and emotional intensity is told in “The House of the Seven Gables," the screen version of one of America's classic novels, which is screening today at the Majestic Theatre. It is a tale of the conflict between two brothers, one to whom the family tradition is a religion and the other, who is able to see the flaws in the fabric of that tradition. A feature of the picture is the unusually high standard of the acting. The principal players are George Sanders as Jaffrey Pyncheon, Vincent Price as his brother, Clifford Pyneheon, and Margaret Lindsay as the distant cousin Hepzibah Pyneheon. As the elder brother, actuated by greed under the cloak ol tradition. George Sanders plays the part of the scoundrel. There is an interesting supporting programme. “I Love You Again” “I Love You Again,” commences on Friday at the Majestic Theatre. It is a brilliant comedy with the traditional William Powell-Myrna Loy atmosphere. Powell is cast as a mean, small-minded small-town man who gets hits over the head during a shipboard incident. This shakes off an eight-year attack of amnesia, and he emerges as a different personality. When he arrives back at his home town, however, and finds a home, wife and friends he does not recognise the situation becomes almost impossible.
