It is reported to be desperately attempting to communicate with Mexico radio stations, saying that warships are pursuing her. The German merchantman Portland sailed last night for an unannounced destination. NAZI VESSEL’S SILENCE LONDON, Dec. 1. From Miami, the Tropical Radio Corporation reports that a German merchant ship has gone silent after broadcasting a number of calls to the radio station at Tampico, in Mexico. This German ship, with another, left Tampico harbour on Friday apparently in an attempt io slip through lhe British blockade in the Atlantic.
