DELHI CONFERENCE
CO-OPERATIVE SPIRIT SIR JOHN DUIGAN’S VIEWS PLANS LAID FOR GREATER PRODUCTION (From the Official Correspondent with the N.Z.E.F. in Middle East). Received Dec. 3, 0,40 p.m. CAIRO, Dec. 2. A spirit o£ complete co-operation was the keynote o£ the Empire Conference held in India recently to discuss problems o£ wartime production and supply, said Sir John Duigan, Chief o£ the New Zealand General Staff, in an interview. He added that the conference laid plans for mobilising the whole of the resources of l . .untries forming the eastern bloc, . only one objective in view—nam , ;o defeat the enemy. He could not yet reveal the specific part New Zealand, or any other individual country, would play when the plans were in full operation, but he said the results of tne conference foreshadowed a tremenuous increase in the production of munitions and supplies. General Duigan paid a tribute to the great spirit o£ confidence and enthusiasm which was evident among the Empire peoples east of Suez.
