THREE SOLDIERS INJURED

CAR AND TRUGK COLLIDE MASTERTON, Oct. 12. A collision between a car and a truck on the Masterton-Carterton highway at 3.15 this morning resulted in three n.c.o’s. from Tauherenikau military camp being injured. They are:— Sergeant-Major George H. Linsey, Wesley Road, Napier. Sergeant-Major F. J. O'Brien, Woodland Road. Woodville. Staff-Sergeant N. B. Sutherland, South Road, Masterton. All received injuries to the hands and face. The condition of each is reported as fair. The accident occurred about two miles on the Masterton side of Carterton. The light car in which the soldiers were travelling collided with a truck travelling to the Waingawa freezing works. Both vehicles were wrecked. After receiving treatment by Dr. Wells, Carterton, the soldiers were admitted to Masterton Public Hospital. The driver of the truck, Mr. G. F. Edwards, received chest injuries, but was able to go home.
