WAIMARINO GOLF NOTES. At a meeting of the social committee of the Waimarino Golf Club, a decision was made to hold the annual golf ball on Thursday, September 19, and to devote the whole of the net proceeds to the Patriotic Fund. VALEDICTORY. Mr. D. Cleland, of the Bank of New Zealand staff, has received notice from the military authorities requiring him to enter camp at Trentham immediately as a member of the Infantry Anti-Tank Unit. Mr. Cleland was the guest of honour at a valedictory function at Mr. L. G. Harris’ residence on Thursday, when members of the Waimarino Golf Club gathered to bid him farewell. The president of the club (Mr. A. Webb) referred to Mr. Cleland’s popularity as a golfer and to his many other fine qualities. Mr. Cleland suitably replied, and looked forward to the time when he would once again meet his many friends on the Waimarino golf links.
