PATEA NOTES
DISTRICT PERSONALS. Mrs. F. Ramsbottom has returned from a visit to Auckland. Mrs. E. A. Bowen was hostess at an enjoyable young people’s party on Friday evening. Mr. M. Ingle, of the staff of the Royal Air Force, Ohakea, was a weekend visitor to Patea. Mr. Fraser, of the Royal N.Z.A.F., has been spending a few days in Patea with his brother, Mr. Gordon Fraser. Mrs. P. A. Walker and Miss E. Walker, who have been spending a vacation with Mrs. J. G. Beamish, have returned to their home in Wanganui. A pleasant evening was spent on Tuesday when Carlyle Institute held
this week’s “Flag 500’’ evening at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. L. Paton. The successful card players were Mesdames Fitzsimons, Paton and Jones. Those present were: Mesdames L. Paton, F. Fitzsimons, H. Peacocke, M. Fairweather, J. Bates, D. Jones and Barclay; Miss J. Wainwright; Messrs. L. Paton, F. Fitzsimons, N. Clarkson.
