MR. NASH HAS NO COMMENT TO MAKE

CIVIL SERVICE AND THE INCREASE [ Per Press Association 1 WELLINGTON. Aug. 13. When the Minister of Finance, Hon. W. Nash, was asked if the five per cent, increase would be extended to the Civil Service, he said he had no comment to make. Inquiries made to-day indicated that the question of an increase for the Civil Service had not arisen before the award was made, and attempts to get a ruling on the matter have failed because a number of Cabinet Ministers, including the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, are absent from Wellington.
