Cars leave at 1 p.m. sharp. Fourths A, to play Hawera, at Hawera, are: Fitzwater, Hermon, Poingdestre, Harris, Fitzsimons (2), Peters, Railion -(2r, Adams, Willis, Featonby, Hill, Partridge, Hill (2), Young. Fourths B, to play Kaponga, at Patea, at 1.30, are: Tuatahi, Brown (2), Hanora, Handley, Broughton, Anderson, Tulawa, Kahia (2), Kiriona, Whanau, Blake (3), Wereta, Para, Tamarapa. GOLI’ CHAMPIONSHIPS The first of the three qualifying rounds for the championships will be played on the Patea links on Saturday. The following is the draw: A. Ghlon v. J. Edwards; S. Edwards v. E. FAREWELL AT PATEA The Patea Badminton Club gathered at the Patea School Hall on Tuesday evening to bid farewell to Mr. and Mrs. A. Richards. Mr. Richards, who is the president of the club, will leave Patea shortly to take up an appointment in Wellington. A most pleasant evening was spent playing badminton, after which a dainty supper was

served by the ladies of the club. Mr. E. F. Hemingway, in making a presentation on behalf of the club, of a handsome tray, to Mr. and Mrs. Richards, expressed regret that Mr. and Mrs. Richards, who had taken such an active part in all sport, es-

pecially tennis and badminton, were leaving the district. Mr. G. Francis, on behalf of the Tennis Club, took the Opportunity to present Mr. and Mrs. Richards with a

beautiful hanging mirror from the tennis club, and wished them every success in Wellington. Among those present were Mesdames A. A match between Palea and Hawera, played at Patea on Saturday, resulted in a draw, the score being three all. In spite of a bumpy ground a good fast game resulted. Patea played in better position than in recent games, which made a marked difference to the speed of the game. There will be two more games to complete the third round. Patea will meet Nolantown at Hawera to-mor-row' (Saturday), and Pihama for the concluding game. Teams will be the same as usual. GOLI BOGEY MATCH J. Edwards, with one up, won a bogey match played during the weekend at Patea. Other scores were:— L. Cardiff, 1 down; A. Gillon, 3 down; E. Horner, 4 down.
