TURKEY'S SUBSTANTIAL INCREASE U.S. HOARD CONTINUES TO GROW (By Telegraph—Pres* Association —Copy right J Received April 23, 10.5 p.m. GENEVA, April 23. League bulletin statistics show that the Turkish gold reserves, which have hovered round £7,000,000 since 1936, leaped to £32,500,000 in February and »rose nearly £1,000,000 more in March. Turkish circles ascribe the rise mainly to Allied loans. The United States added £440,000,000 to her reserves, or 11 per cent, since the outbreak of war lo the end of March. Other increases are: South Africa 24 per cent., Yugoslavia 6 per cent., and Rumania 2 per cent. Sweden lost £45,000,000 or half her reserves, Switzerland and Norway lost 12 per cent, each, and Holland 10 per cent.
