ATTACK REPULSED ON WESTERN FRONT

GERMAN DETACHMENT FAILS TO REACH OUTPOST [ British Official Wireless.] RUGBY, April 22. The French official communique states: “To the east of the Moselle we repulsed, by our fire, an attack of an enemy detachment which did not succeed in approaching our outpost. During the night of April 21 and 22, in the course of an encounter with one of our patrols, an enemy reconnaissance aeroplane was attacked and fell in Belgium.” The morning communique reported activity of French patrols east of the Moselle. Last night’s communique stated: “There were artillery actions near the Blies.”
