MONSTER CHILDREN’S PICNIC ( Per Pro** Association.) TIMARU, April 10. I The Timaru centennial celebrations I concluded to-day with a monster i children’s picnic. Upwards of 4000 ■ children from primary and secondary; schools were entertained on the show-' grounds, the function being an out- ‘ standing success. During the afternoon the primary children gave a spectacular display of forming a relief map of the Dominion, the outline being built up according • to outstanding dates of colonisation. and the effect being most striking. Transport and catering arrange- : ments for feeding the'children worked ' without a hitch, luncheon made up in i parcels being distributed in 13 minutes.
