I am afraid some form of subsidy appears inevitable under the present circumstances,” said Mr. Hale, chairman of the Dairy Board, at a ward meeting in Whangarei to-day. He was referring to the Labour problem affecting farmers, and added that if there was to be increased production next year the labour problem would have to be tackled seriously by the Government the only authority able to deal with the matter.
