For butter factories the claim was for £312 a year for under 100 tons, increased by 7s a ton from 100 to 300 tons, 5s from 301 to 600 tons. 3s from 601 to 1600 tons. Is from 1601 to 2000 tons, and 3d from 2001 to 3000 tons. The claim for cheese factories was £252 for under 40 tons, increased by Ils a ton from 40 to 600 tons. 3s from 601 to 1600 tons. Is from 1601 to 2000 tons, and 3d from 2001 to 3000 tons. The increases were opposed on grounds that managers were paid in proportion to other factory workers and that any increase would reduce the reward factory suppliers received for their labours, which reward, it was stated, was not as great as that of factory managers.
