WEATHER FORECAST
Meteorological Office, Wellington, Thursday, April 11, 3 p.m. General Situation.—An anti-cyclone continues to move from the Tasman on to southern New Zealand. Forecast.—Winds: Southerly to south-easterly, moderate to strong in parts of the Auckland Peninsula and on the east coast, decreasing later from the south; elsewhere, light to moderate, later becoming variable. Seas: Rather rough between Banks Peninsula and East Cape and in the South Taranaki Bight decreasing; elsewhere slight or moderate but with a swell on the* east coast. Eastern Tasman Sea: Fresh southerly to south-easterly winds, rather rough seas, but wind and sea decreasing. Weather: Changeable in eastern and far northern districts, with passing showers, and improving from the south; elsewhere mainly fair to fine, with sharp frosts inland to-night. Temperatures gradually becoming milder. The New Zealand Friends' School, St. John’s Hill, reports as follows for 24 hours ending 6 p.m. yesterday:— Hours of sunshine, 1 hour. Rainfall, trace. Maximum temperature, 59deg. Fahr.; minimum temperature, 46deg. Fahr. Time of sunsei to-aay, 5.56 p.m. Time of sunrise to-morrow, 6.48 a.m. Phases of the moon for April.—New’ moon, April 8, 7.48 a.m.; first quarter, April 16, 1.16 a.m.
