WANGANUI CLUB

STABLEFORD MATCH FIGHTING FORCES’ FUND All honorary members are invited to play in the Stableford match at Belmont on Saturday, which is being held in aid of the Fighting Forces’ Fund. These matches are being held by every . golf club in New Zealand and the contribution made by each club is being subsidised from the New Zealand Golf Council funds. The president and committee are anxious that the Wanganui Golf Club's contribution shall be a good one and are asking all members and honorary members to make a point of playing in Saturday’s match. If circumstances make it impossible for them to play they may still forward their contribution to the secretary. The entrance fee fixed for all golf clubs is 2s 6d a player. Trophies will be presented by the club from the club funds. Members may book times at the clubhouse and can ring up any time after to-day. The following times have been booked:— 9.30—G. Collins, W. WANGANUI INDIES’ CLUB FIRST L.G.U. MATCH YESTERDAY’S RESULTS The first L.G.U. medal match of the Wanganui Ladies’ Golf Club's 1940 season was played yesterday. The results were:—

SEAFIELD COUNTRY CLUB FLAG MATCH ARRANGED DRAW FOR SATURDAY A flag match will be played by the Seafield Country Golf Club on Saturday. Following is the draw: —Mrs. Murray v. Miss Buller; Miss McGregor v. Miss Haggle; Mrs. Haggle v. Miss Meyer; Miss Bell v. Miss Tizard; Miss Stringfellow V. Miss L. Clark; Miss McKendry v. Miss Smith; Miss Flavell v. Miss Cowan; Miss Godfrey v. Mrs. Aiken: Miss Ritchie v. Mrs. Bell; Mrs. Irwin v. Miss Paul; Miss Donaldson v. Miss B. Clark; Mrs. Crichton v. Miss Maxwell; Mrs. Lamont v. Mrs. Mowat; Miss Cleland v. SATURDAY’S MEDAL MATCH A medal match will be played by members of the Seafield Country Golf Club on Saturday, and members will be paired by the committee at the clubhouse. All cards must be handed in for handicapping.
