BRITISH BACON AND BUTTER SUPPLIES
[ British Official Wireless ] Received April 10, 6.5 p.m. RUGBY, April 9. Making a special statement in view of the “developments in Scandinavia,” ' the Minister for Food said that the bacon supply was ample, as Britain had never counted on getting regular supplies from Denmark anti Norway and had a large weekly contract with Canada and agreements with Eire and •'Northern Ireland. Increasing home • supplies also were becoming available. I Regarding butter, there was still 1 plenty for some time, even if imports . were interrupted in the immediate future. Lajrge supplies were now coming in from Australia and New Zealand.
