MOTORISED REGIMENT
MOUNTED RIFLES IN CAM I* FIRST TIME WITHOUT H RSES WHANGAREI, April 8. For the first time since the regiment was formed, the North Auckland Mounted Rifles will be -n camp without horses when the regiment goes into camp at Kensington Park, Whangarei, on April 16. Since the last annual camp the regimen* has been motorised and the named changed tc the North Auckland Motorised Re\ Tiient. The advance guard will go into camp on April 15 and will be followed next day by about 250 officers and men The camp will be under the command of Colonel D. T. Wood, while Lieutenant P. Hollway will be adjutant On April 19 a convoy of 20 army vehicles will come by road from Auckland to be used in training. The regiment will later proceed by motor transport to the Bay of Islands, w here tactical exercises will be carried out. Returning to Whangarei on April 24, the regiment will take part in the Anzac Day parade.
