BIG ATTRACTION ON SATURDAY A great deal of trouble is being gone to by the special committee and by members of the Wanganui A. and .P. Association to make the first Wanganui gymkana on the Raacecourse next Saturday the success it deserves to be. A working bee is to put the grounds in order to-morrow and everything made ready for one of the biggest sports meetings promoted on the coast. The buck-jumping contest will take a great deal of preparation. Wild horses from the hinterland are to be used and this event alone will be worth the price of admission. When the question of gate charges was raised, the committee was unanimous in a decision that they would be as low as possible. Adults will be charged Is and children 6d, under 10 free. The programme includes a variety of horse events, both for hacks and ponies, running events, arranged by the Wanganui Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club and several novelties.
