FOUR RECORDS IMPROVED
WANGANUI COLLEGIATE SPORTS A. ALEXANDER, SENIOR CHAMPION ‘Four records were improved and two equalled at the Wanganui Collegiate School athletic sports which were concluded on the school grouno yesterday. The weather was perfect and theie was a large attends nee. Tie senior champion was A. Alexander, who registered 11 points. L. P, Kliis, was runner-up with 9 points. R. V. 1 Kettle w’on Hie junior title witn 9 points. Harvey House gained 104 standards, Haulield 100, Giey 90, Macris 44, and Selwyn 42. Smooth organisation enabled the long programme to be earned out With a mmimum of delay. All the events were closely congested and held the close attention of the spectators. At the end of the sporu the prizes were presented by Mrs. Gilligan, wife of the headmaster. At the call of tne head prefect, G. F. Austin, cheers were given for Mr. and Mis. Gilligan, old boys and visitors. Cr.ecis were given lor the school. Mr. Gilligan acknowledged the excellent work of the head prelect, G. F. Austin, in the conduct of the sports, ana he was given a special ovation. The gathering was one of the most enjoyable in the long history of the sports.
