OBITUARY
MR. ERNEST J. KNIGHT LEVIN, March 23. The death occurred recently of Mr. E. J. Knight, of the Kuku, Ohau, while on a health visit to one of his daughters. Born at Lower Hutt in 1874, Mr. Knight was the fourth son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Knight and a grandson of Wellington’s pioneers of 1840. As a young man Mr. Knight worked on his father’s farm at Waiwetu, and after his marriage farmed in Taranaki, Wairarapa, and Manawatu. On retiring he settled al. Levin, three sons carrying on the farm at the Kuku. Mr. Knight was a prominent member at the Levin Presbyterian Church. Mr. A. R. Knight, Lower Hutt, is a brother. Two sisters are still living, Miss Jane Knight, of Wellington, and Mrs. Broad, London, England, who is at present visiting New Zealand. Mr. Knight leaves a widow, three sons, Charles and Eric, at the Kuku, and Frank, of the N.Z.R.A.F., at Hobsonville. and three daughters, Mrs. Hodge, Papatoetoe, Mrs. Martin Harvey, Levin, and Miss Joyce Knight. Ohau. The funeral took place at Levin last Tuesday.
