IMPATIENT WITH DELAYS AUSTRALIAN WELL DOWN PINEHURST (North Carolina), March 21. Ferrier’s third and fourth rounds were respectively 76 and 77. He finished with an aggregate of 305, thirty-eighth in a field of 60. Hogan won with 277—a course record. Next were Snead (280), Byron Nelson (286) Revolta (287) and Sarazen (288). Ferrier was impatient with the Americans’ deliberate shooting, which requires four hours for eighteen holes. He played the final round alone in two hours. Ferrier Is not eligible for the amateur tournaments because he does not belong to any amateur association or country club. He next plays in the Greensboro (North Carolina) open tournament on March 23.
