Distributing Co., Ltd., report on the first sale for 1940 as follows: We yarded 1600 sheep, consisting almost entirely of lambs. Competition was not animated although we sold every pen except a small one of 40 2-tooth ewes, which passed at 275. There was a fairly good attendance and the top price for woolly b.f. lambs, on account of Lyall Lambert, w r as 16s 4d and the same vendor realised 15s 8d for a pen of 84 good w.f.w. Jambs. Quotations: Good woolly b.f. lambs, 13s 3d to 16s 4d; good w.f.w. lambs. 15s 8d; medium w.f.w'. lambs, 8s 4d to Ils 6d; small ewe lambs, 10s 8d to 11s; small wether lambs, 2s to 5s 9d.
