CROSSING SMASH
TWO PERSONS KILLED CAR CARRIED 100 YARDS ( Per Press Association.J AUCKLAND. June 4. The level crossing on the Waiuku branch railway, about one mile north of Pukekohe, was the scene of an accident involving the loss of two lives this morning. The victims were: Mr. John Boyd Marshall, aged about 70, farmer, of Taitimu. Graham’s Beach, Waiuku. Mrs. Frances Violet Marshall, aged about 50, wife of Marshall. It s stated that neither the train nor the car was travelling at a fast pace. The car was carried a distance of 100 yards and reduced a twisted mass of wreckage. The woman was thrown some distance from the poi.«t of impact, while Marshall, wno was driving, w ’ • taken | from the wreckage of the car and died ten minutes later. The woman, | who was seriously injured, was taken [by ambulance to the Auckland Hospital, where she died.
