TOOL-MAKERS REFUSE TO SUB.XHT BOOKS LONDON. Dei-. 20. An official report of evidence given to a select committee on the Estimates reveal that the Under-Secretary to the Treasury, Sir Alan Barlow, told the committee last March that the Treasury had a suspicion that machine tool-makers engaged in the national defence programme were making excessive profits.
