Pity the Poor Parents. Many amusing jokes have come from the classroom. One Auckland teacher recalls with a chuckle < n experience at the beginning of the year in one of the New Zealand ba?kblocks settlements, where she was ski cred. Two much troubled parents came to her at the school and asked he. to bring in their little boy, who, they said, was violently opposed to jc.ning the school. She refused, telling them they had to da that. They wen: out again, and some time later • dinned with the child. Father held him by the feet and mother had a firm grip on his head. On another occasion a father brought his young hopefu l along for his first day’s school. The child’s face was quite dry, out th? tears were rolling down the parent’s ere. eks.
