A British United Press Shanghai message says that according lo Chinese and Japanese reports, aoout 60 Japanese bombers raided at least five cities in Szechuan province yesterday. There was heavy damage and many deaths. Chungking reports that factorie. communications and Government buildings in the suburbs were damaged. Suifu, Chengtu, Taeliutsing ana Liangshan were hard hit, TO RELIEVE NANNING CHINESE TROOPS ADVANCE Received Dec. 20, 10.30 p.m. NEW YORK, Dec. 19. The Chungking correspondent of the New' York Times states that continuing the offensive, whereby they hope soon to deliver Nanning, the I Chinese, despite heavy losses, recap- : tured Takofengyi, a strategic moun--1 tain pass 15 miles to the north of , Nanning, also a nearby village. The Chinese are holding points on the roads between Nanning and lhe |sea, thus isolating the Japanese.
