Mr. H. R. Penny has been appointed a producers’ representative on the New Zealand Honey Control Board. Mr. J. W. G. Brodie has returned 1o Wellington after a five weeks’ visit to Sydney and Melbourne. Surgeon-Lieutenant E. S. McPhail, i R.N.V.R., of Rangiora, has been appointed to serve as medical officer of H.M.S. Monowai. Captain G. B. Morgan, formerly master of the Maunganui, is temper- I arily in command of the Awatea, in ' the absence on sick leave of Captain A. H. Davey. Mr. Gordon Herbert Donaldson Grant was on Monday admitted by Mr. Justice Fair as a barrister of the Supreme Court on the motion of Mr. S. J. Elliott. Mr. J. Sidciells leaves for Clive. Hawke’s Bay, to-day. He will be away until January 4, when he will : ibe back in Wanganui for four days ! prior to going to Wellington. The Rev. Hayes Lloyd, of the Lower Hutt Baptist Church, has accepted a call to the Hastings Baptist Church. ' He will take up his new charge at the beginning of March. Mr. F. E. Mr. Hector Bolitho, the well-known author, formerly of Auckland, has been given a commission in. the Royal Air Force and has been aopointed io a post on the Directorate of Intelligence at the Air Ministry, London.
