OHINGAITI SCHOOL YEAR ENDS
, The annual breaking-up ceremony of the Ohingaiti School was held in 1 ! the Memorial Hall. The ceremony t took the form of a concert in which '.'half of the programme was given bv Waipuru School and the remaining half by Ohingaiti. ’ Several short plays by both schools, also singing, choral speaking and several individual items were enjoyed by all. Great credit Is due to the teachers ; of both schools for the excellent manner in which the children conducted themselves during the evening. After the concert the chairman of the school committee thanked all present for attending in such large num- | bars and called on Pat McKnight to present to Miss Lewin, who is leaving I Ohingaiti, with a small gift from I pupils of the school and thanking her for her interest in the sports of Ihe I school as well as her numerous other I duties. Miss. Lewin responded and was given three cheers. The children were then given a bountiful supper while the floor waa 1 cleared for dancing. The music was supplied by Master : K. Siddles of Taihape and was much appreciated. SUNDAY SCHOOL. The Presbyterian Sunday School met for the last time Im 1939 last Sunday. Several parents of children were present and were delighted with the singing of children. Mrs. Weston wished all children a Happy Christmas. Mrs. Peacock thanked Mrs. Weston and other teachers for their work among children. The prizes for the year were then presented and were as follows: Senior Girls.—Evelyn Darragh. Junior Girls.—Dulcie Harding. Kindergarten.- Helen Peacock. Senior Boys.—Kenneth Peacock.
