REGIMENTAL BAND
SOCIAL EVENING VARIED PROGRAMME PRESENTED There was a large attendance at the Drill Hall on Saturday night, when the band of the WellingtonWest Coast. Regiment, under the baton of Warrant-Officer A. Ramsay, entertained parents, friends and supporters of the band at a social evening. The items pj-esenled by the band were:- - Regimental march, "Victoria"; selection, “More Musical Memories"; “The Rosary," soloist, E. Buller; waltz, “Aftei the Dawn, euphonium solo, "O Star of Eve," soloist, R. Austin; selection, “Eventide"; trombone solo, “Swasika,” soloist, T. Bennett; hymn, “Diadem"; tenor horn solo, “lona," soloist, C. Cox; march, “Bush Boys"; National Anthem. Major S. H. Gould and Mr. P. J. Cox both spoke of the good work ot the conductor and also outlined future activities of the band. Supper was provided by the ladieu of the committee. The winner of the large Xmas cake donated by Mrs. Shepherd was Mrs. Huckleby, of Carlton Avenue, Gonville.
