Meteorological Office. Wellington, Friday, Dec. 8, 3 p.m. General Situation.—Pressure has risen generally since yesterday and is now relatively high and steady over the Dominion. Forecast.—Winds: Light to fresh westerlies to southerlies predominating at first, but later tending more north-westerly. Seas (New Zealand waters): Slight on the East Coast, moderate on the ‘west and about Cook and Foveaux Straits. Eastern Tasman Sea: IJght to variable winds and slight seas in the northern portion, else- t ■where moderate to fresh westerly winds and moderate to lathei rough seas. Weather: For the most part fair to tine and milder but with occasional showers still probable in western and far southern districts of the South Island. The New Zealand Friends’ School. St. John's Hill, reports as Joilows for 24 hours ended 6 p.m. yesterday: Hours of sunshine, 10 hours 40 minutes. Rainfall, nil. Maximum temperature, 70deg. Fahr.; minimum temperature. 56deg. Fahr.
