THE ANNUAL MEETING FIELDS AND PROSPECTS The annual meeting of the Hororata Racing Club will held to-day, and it will provide the final opportunity for South Island horses prior to the holiday fixtures. Nominations will close on Monday next, December 11. The feature event will be the Stratford Cup (1< miles), the stake of £6GO | including a gold cup valued at £75. Trophies will be presented to the | trainer and the rider of the winner in this event. There will be a £25 trophy, presented by Mr. V. Smith, for the winner of the Te Kapua Hack Cup on the second day, the stake being £250 and the distance nine furlongs. The Malone Memorial Handicap, also on the second day, is worth £315, the winner’s share being £225. The two open sprints will be worth £235 and £2lO respectively, and the highweight events, both over distances of about seven furlongs, will be worth £215 and £195 respectively.
