WELCOME HOME TO MEMBERS On Thursday evening an enjoyable party was held in the Rendezvous to celebrate the return of members from overseas, Mr. and Mrs. Bullock and Mrs. Butcher, from England; also Mr. and Mrs. Newman, from America. Mr. Leo Wilson. Okoia. presided, and Mrs. Archibald was hostess. The chairman, in tendering a welcome to the guests of honour, expressed the pleasure -all felt at their safe arrival in these dangerous times. Mr. Bullock then addressed the meeting, telling of contacts he had made with various movements in London, Liverpool. Coventry, and other centres engaged in spreading the philosophy of Social Credit; also interesting personalities, among others. Dr. Tudor Jones and Mrs. Palmer. He brought greetings from Bruno Barnabe, who had contacted so many social creditors in his tour of New Zealand and who was on the eve of going to Poland in connection with refugee work there. Mrs. Butcher also gave interesting reminiscences of the voyage and of a visit to Germany cut short at the outbreak of war. Other speakers were the Mayor, who was present with Mrs. Rogers, ■Miss McCarthy, Miss Gifford, Mrs. Watkin. Mr. Nolan, Mr. Billinghurst, and Mr. Newman. Solos were rendered during the evening. “Waiata Poi,” and “Old I Friends Meet Again," by Mrs. Part- I ridge, accompanied by Mrs. Malcolm, and two solos, “Bright is the Ring of Words” and “Oh‘ Promise Me." by j Miss I. Dunlop, accompanied by Miss : L. Dunlop. Supper was served on tables beautifully decorated with poppies. Votes of thanks were accorded to the artistes by Mr. Wilson and Mrs. Archibald thanked those present for turning up in such large numbers. The meeting concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
