Jones, that at the invitation of the Government, backed by the recommendation of the Chief of the Imperial General Staff, Major-General B. C. Freyberg, who is to command the New Zealand military forces overseas, will shortly pay a visit to the Dominion. At the time of his appointment to the New Zealand command, said Mr. Jones. General Freyberg was General Officer Commanding the Salisbury Plain area. He had already, since the outbreak of war, spent some time in France. Now he was coming to discuss questions of organisation with Major-General J. E. It was expected that General Freyberg would be several weeks in New Zealand. He left London yesterday.
