BOOKMAKER CONVICTED

HAS PAID £520 IN FINES OFFENCES AT WHANGAREI. [ P«i Press Association.] WHANGAREI, Dec. 4. Charles Schon was lined £lOO today on a charge of bookmaking. The police said the defendant had contributed £520 to the revenue of the country in lines for this offence since 1930. Keith Edwards, Schon’s clerk, was fined £5 and 10s costs, and Ralph Shaw £2 for being found on the premises. Andrew Vicko was fined £7 for bookmaking at Maungaturoto.
