WANGANUI HEALTH CAMP

PRAISE FROM TARANAKI “Since the Wanganui Health Camp was opened in February last, 58 Taranaki children have been sent to it and have derived much benefit from their stay,” states a letter from the Taranaki District Health stamp campaign executive, sent to the New Zealand Federation of Health Camps. Mr. A. R. Donaldson, secretary of the Wanganui Health Camp, received the extracts from the Taranaki letter through the N.Z. Federation. “Several members of our committee and some parents have visited the camp and expressed their pleasure at the general layout and the arrangements made for the comfort of the children and the attention given to them by the camp staff,” the Taranaki comment added. Gifts to Health Camp. Gifts sent to the Wanganui Health Camp during November include vegetables, eggs, clothing, books, cake, and a portable gramophone and records. Those who gave gifts were: Mrs. Bogle, books; Mr. Vaughan, clothing; Mrs. Toms, eggs; Mrs. Lewis (Manga weka), two sacks of vegetables; Miss D. Bruce, games and scraps for handwork; Mr. Barnes, portable gramophone: Mrs. Cox, cake and fruit; Mrs. Watson, cake; and Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Lomas, gramophone records. Art Union Proceeds The number of health stamps sold in the Wanganui district this year will determine Wanganui’s share of the Christmas are union, the proceeds of which are to be allotted to the New Zealand Federation ot Health Camps. .Mr. A. R. Donaldson has been advised by the federation that the proceeds of the art union will be distributed in proportion to the sale of health stamps in each district. Last year Wanganui received £679 12s 3d from the Christmas art union and £162 5s 5d from the sale of stamps.
