CASTLECLIFF CLUB
LABOUR DAY TOURNAMENT A large number of entries has already been received for the Castlecliff Golf Club's first annual championship tournament to be held during the Labour Day week-end, commencing on Saturday, October 21, and continuing for three days. The fairway’s and rough are being cut this week and excellent playing conditions are assured. Two qualifying rounds will be played on Saturday and for intending competitors who cannot start until after 12 noon provision has been made for them to play the two rounds during the -afternoon. In conjunction with the qualifying rounds medal competitions in two divisions will be played for both in the morning and afternoon. On October 22 the first and second zounds of match play in the Castlecliff championship, Waitai, Awatea and Mataroa Handicaps will be played. Those players who are eliminated in the first round of the Castlecliff championship will be automatically qualified for the Castlecliff elimination competition. A bogey round in the morning and a Stableford bogey, both in two divisions, will also be competed for in the afternoon. On Monday (Labour Day) the semifinal and finals of all the flights will be played with a medal round competition, in two divisions, in the morning and four-ball best-ball bogey in which players will choose their own partners will be played for. A teams match will also be competed for on -Monday morning. Entries close to-morrow and the draw for Saturday will be published on Friday, October 20.
