WOMAN KILLED, AND FIVE PERSONS INJURED
MOTOR ACCIDENT NEAR NORWOOD I I’er Press Aseocialivn 1 CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 15. A woman was killed and five persons injured when a car struck a stationary car head on, on the Main South R.oad near Norwood, about 22 miles from Christchurch, about i o'clock this evening. The victim.-; i were:— Dead.—Mrs. Johnston, w'fe of R. H. Johnston, of Dunsande), who died on the way to hospital. Injured.—Mr. J'hnston, husband of' Mrs. Johnson; M-s. James Thompson, | Christchurch; John Thompson, aged’ four; Mrs. Cummins; Barry Cummins. I aged four. All are suffering from I l ead injuries. It appears that lhe car containing I the last four was ja-ked up for re-1 pairs when struck by the other car; containing Johnston and his wife.; Thompson and Cummins, husbands of ■ the two injured women, were on the roaci repairing the car and were not touched in the impact.
