MRS. ( . M. HUITE I AREWELLED. (Own Correspondent.) RAETIHI, Sept. 25. On Friday afternoon, at the residence of Mrs. H. E. Feltham, Mrs. C. M. Whyte (who leaves shortly for Otorohanga) was fare welled at a complimentary afternoon tea by members of the Raetihi sub-branch of the Piunket Society. Mrs. Whyte was made the recipient of a crystal celery jar by Mrs. F. L. Smith. In making the presentation, Mrs. Smith made reference to the very active part taken by their guest in connection with any effort undertaken by the society during the last three years. Mrs. Smith tendered Mrs. Whyte and family aii good wishes in connection with their transfer to Otorohanga. Mrs. Whyte "returned thanks in a brief speech. Those present were: Mesdames C. M. Whyte, H. E. Feltham, F. L. Smith, R. Sigley, H. R. Ciochetto, W. H. Sandford, to Journeaux, W. Brown, G. Anderson, L. Baird, R. B. Davies, A. Webb. Cr. Stewart. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames L. Fagg and F. A. Wright.
