WANGANUI ASSOCIATION M.U. CUP COMPETITION RESULTS Following are the results of the eighth round of the Wanganui Indoor Bowls Association’s M.U. -Cup competition:—Green (Aramoho Druids) won from Brown (Aramoho Druids), Gurney (A.0.F.) won from Loader (A.0.F.), Howes (Power Board) won from Mancer (Bishop Lodge), Brown (Fire Board) won from Johnson (M.U.), Harris (M.U.) won from Shaw (M.U.), Rogerson (Cosmopolitan Club) won from Wilson (M.U.). With only three games to be played, the position of the teams is still uniform, five teams leading for first place—Brown (Fire Board), Gurney (A.0.F.). Howes (Power Board), Rogerson (Cosmo) and Green (Aramoho Druids) all have 5 points; Mancer (Bishop Lodge) points; Brown (Aramoho Druids), Shaw (M.U.) and Harris (M.U.) 4 points; Johnson (M.U.) 3i points; Wilson (M.U.) 2 points; Loader (A.0.F.) 1 point. The draw for the ninth round, to be played on Thursday, Juh 27, teams playing at home mentioned first, is as follows:—Wilson (M.U.) v. Loader (A.0.F.); Johnson (M.U.) v. Shaw (M.U.); Green (Aramoho Druids) v. Harris (M.U.); Brown (Fire Board) v. Rogerson (Cosmo); Gurney (A.0.F.) v. Howes (Power Board); Mancer (Bishop Lodge) v. Brown (Aramohc Druids). Signal Challenge Shield Johnson (M.U.) successfully defended the shield against a challenge from Mancer (Bishop Lodge), the scores* being: Johnson 23, v. Mancer 17. Clubs are notified that entries and nomination fees for the champion doubles competition should be in the hands of the secretary, Mr. H. Zinsli, by August 5.
