WANGANUI CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEES APPOINTED The Wanganui Centennial Celebiations Committee will meet on Thursday night to consider recommendations of the executive committee relating to the programme *>r the centennial celebrations in Wanganui and the appointment of committees. The executive recommended that Ihe celebrations should start on Sunday, March 3, by holding church services, and on the following day that there should be a Maori concert and an historical tableau on Cook's Gardens. A ball is proposed for the Tuesday night, and on Wednesday a children's day on Cook’s Gardens, which will also include (he early settlers. Thursday is set aside for holding a procession. to include bands and floats, with a carnival on the Wanganui Racecourse. The form of entertainment for Friday is not recommended, but. it is suggested that a regatta he held on the Saturday, and also a carnival on the Wanganui Racecourse.
